Jeff Corkill – Lecturer Intelligence & Security
Jeff Corkill is a former military intelligence officer who after serving 20 years made the move to the resource sector and spent the next 10 years of his career focusing primarily on the security intelligence needs of the precious minerals industry. Jeff held a number of security intelligence management roles in the resource sector and continues to consult in the security and intelligence field. His consultancy has included working with the UN and private companies primarily on issues related to intelligence and surveillance. In 2007 Jeff entered academia and he now lectures in Intelligence and Security and is actively researching in the fields of intelligence analysis, surveillance, personnel vetting and community security at Edith Cowan University in Perth. He is in the final stages of his PhD which is focused on the role of professional artistry in intelligence analysis and what characteristics separate average from outstanding analysts.
